The week leading up to a photoshoot is always quite a strange time, our 2 directors are lost to a mad dash of collating 100’s of different samples from around the world at the same time as having to negotiate logistics of baggage allowances (it’s hard to travel light when you are transporting the majority of next years beachwear collections!) We’re also busy finalising travel plans and putting the finishing touches to the busy shoot schedule. Amongst this slight feeling of panic, you have to stop and remind yourself… soon we’ll be jetting off to a dream location and spending the week in paradise!
We were very lucky this year to have the help of Bush Baby Travel who found the perfect location for the shoot – what better place to showcase the new bikinis and beachwear than the bright white beaches and beautiful blue seas of the Maldives.
Landing at Constance Moofushi via seaplane was nothing but spectacular. The picturesque jetty and friendly welcome party from the Constance staff made you feel like you were arriving somewhere really quite special.. and we certainly were. Our bags were quickly whisked away to our stunning beach villas and we were given a quick tour of the Island along with refreshing welcome drinks. Had we not been there to work I’m sure the first port of call would have been the beautiful beach bar for sundowner cocktails, but alas, for now we needed to unpack, arrange our samples and make sure everything was freshly ironed ready to start shooting early the next morning. We did however manage to enjoy a delicious first night dinner in the all inclusive restaurant overlooking the sea, whist celebrating the safe arrival of all of our suitcases and getting to know our Spanish model, gorgeous Barbara Rodiles.
Waking on the first day felt like a dream, the sun was out for us, the sea was sparking with a 100 different shades blue and everywhere we turned was another picture perfect photo opportunity. Faith, our talented and lovely make-up artist always faces a few challenges what with the heat, humidity and tropical winds, but as ever did an amazing job and helped to keep everyone’s morale high. Our model Barbara was also an absolute pro, despite the 30+ degree heat, long days on her feet and countless rapid outfit changes she continued to looked amazing in everything we threw her way.
As the week passed by and the ‘done pile’ got bigger and the clipboard received an increasing number of ticks, there was never was never a moment we got tired of the sheer beauty of Moofushi Island, we were spoilt for choice on where to shoot each day. The staff at Constance clearly work hard to keep the Island looking it’s very best and to make sure all the guests are holidaying in upmost content. No request was too much trouble and was always met with a smile (in our case, a lot of extra clothes hangers, irons, and an endless supply of water!)
Even though the island presents the ultimate location to indulge in relaxation (you could happily spend a week simply gazing at the sea), there is also a lot more on offer at Constance Moofushi. For example, opportunities to take part in diving trips, fishing expeditions, excursions to local islands or a sunset visit to the nearby sand bank. For honeymooners there are romantic meals for two or private evening cinema screenings on the beach. For families the swimming pool is shallow and safe, there are games such boules, a pool table and giant chess, plus a baby sitting service for the evenings. Fitness fans can enjoy a fully air conditioned well equipped gym as well as yoga sessions at the dedicated and truly picturesque pavilion.
We were lucky enough to enjoy a really magical ‘Dolphin Adventure’ (included in our all-inclusive Crystal Package). We were so excited to spot a pod of around 40 dolphins who came to ride in the wake of our boat. There was also incredible snorkelling to be done right on our doorstep – Constance Moofushi has it’s own coral reef, home to countless species of colourful, tropical fish as well as Black Tip Reef Sharks (we were assured they are friendly!)
Before we knew it, the time can come to pack our bags and return ‘back to reality’ (as the sign as you exit so abtly reads)! It really was was hard to leave this beautiful place and all that it has to offer. We want to say a big thank you to Bush Baby for organising our travel and everyone at Constance Moofushi for making us feel so welcome and providing the perfect backdrop for our photoshoot. If you have ever dreamed of a trip to the Maldives we couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Bush Baby have just let us know us about a fantastic room rate on offer: Book a Water Villa at Moofushi by 30th November and you can SAVE 40% for stays until 08th May (excludes 22 Dec – 07 Jan and 01 Feb – 09 March). Or you can SAVE 15% this Festive Season (min 5 night stay). If that wasn’t enough to convince you, if you spend over £2000 on any Indian Island destination booked via Bush Baby Travel (up until the 31st March 2018) you’ll receive a £100 voucher to spend at Coco Bay – perfect to kit you out for your trip!
For us.. (now now!) it’s back to reality…
