One of the very best, but equally the most challenging parts of our jobs at Coco Bay has to be the photoshoot. Twice a year we set ourselves the challenge of transporting the entire new collections of swimwear and beachwear to a beautiful location in the name of getting some dreamy lifestyle photography and bringing the products to life. Moving the Coco Bay office out to the sunshine for a week is always pretty exciting but not without it’s challenges, of course there’s a lot at stake and time never seems to be on our side!
Moontide describe their 2018 swimwear collections as a ‘global quest for wanderlust’. Their team of swimwear designers have taken inspiration from the Exotic East and have incorporated touches of Nautical Elegance into the products which adds to the spirit of luxury and adventure for the 2018 designs. Coco Bay have long been huge fans of Moontide swimwear. Using the highest quality fabrics which are sourced from the world’s leading fabric suppliers along with their innovative design features combine to create some of the best fitting swimwear on the planet. Coco Bay are pleased to announce our 2018 Moontide collection which includes three beautiful mix-and-match bikini sets, plus three super sophisticated one-piece swimsuit options.
The week leading up to a photoshoot is always quite a strange time, our 2 directors are lost to a mad dash of collating 100’s of different samples from around the world at the same time as having to negotiate logistics of baggage allowances (it’s hard to travel light when you are transporting the majority of next years beachwear collections!) We’re also busy finalising travel plans and putting the finishing touches to the busy shoot schedule. Amongst this slight feeling of panic, you have to stop and remind yourself… soon we’ll be jetting off to a dream location and spending the week in paradise!
Coco Bay Co-Founder Belinda Robinson writes about her recent trip with Simpson Travel to Mousses Villas, Lefkada, Greece I have always loved Greece and have visited many of its islands. It’s picturesque beauty has also made a spectacular setting for a couple of our photoshoots and I was desperate to return but wasn’t quite sure where to go and what to do. The holiday tick list has significantly changed with the arrival of our son and I was a little apprehensive that it might not quite have the same appeal with a demanding 2 year old in tow!

The one-piece swimsuit is having a moment, and we can certainly see why with so many accessible and stunning designs in the offering. In recent months we have definitely seen a rise in sales for the one-peice and our collection of fashionable, elegant swimsuits are proving to be a hit. Swimwear designers are no longer seeing the one-piece as having to be practical or offering coverage for the body-conscious and we are seeing ladies of all ages are opting for a full swimsuits with flattering cuts, fabulous prints and beautiful embellishments.
We were keen to share this review from one of our customers who has recently been through a mastectomy and breast reconstruction. We hope that it brings inspiration to all women who have gone through the trauma and frightening times of breast cancer and surgery. Bikini shopping is daunting at the best of times, but planning your holiday beachwear after breast surgery is even more daunting as where do you start? Our customer was not ready to accept that her bikini days were over, so we sent her a selection of different styles to try and hope that her feedback will be helpful to ladies in a similar position.
The promise of a Summer holiday brings the chance to relax with a book. We’re lucky enough to have met best-selling author Rose Alexander, whose second book, Under An Amber Sky, was published in May. Here, she talks to us about what inspires her writing – plus she has given us her favourite beachwear picks from Coco Bay.
A Kikoy (or Kikoi) towel is a traditional African wrap or sarong. Typically a rectangular shaped piece of woven cotton, originating from the East Coat of Africa and in particular Kenya. Historically a Kikoy was a piece of clothing for Men worn in the hot African climate. They have now evolved into a truly versatile accessory used the world over, often used for trips to the beach, swimming pool, sauna etc…
